Santa Eulària des
Riu is situated east of the island and this beautiful and serene
municipality is filled with history and tradition. Its capital
Santa Eulària des
Riu was build around the Puig
de Missa, a fortified 16th century church with defence tower, and
further along the shores of the bay.
The Pont Vell, the bridge you have to cross before entering the village
of Santa Eulalia, was build long ago to help farm animals cross
the river that flowed here in the old days, the ’Río de Santa Eulària des Riu’.
The other villages in this municipality are:
Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera,
Sant Carles de Peralta,
Nuestra Señora de Jesús and each of them are home to
a beautiful historic church.
S´Argamassa Aquaduct, build in 1st roman century, is 425 metre
long and worthwhile visiting.
You will find the
perfect combination of activities in every town and along the beautiful coastline
of Sta Eulalia.
